Welcome

Dear Colleagues,

The 24th annual Midwest Ocular Angiography Conference (MOAC) will be held at the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac resort in Quebec City, Canada (www.fairmont.com/frontenac). The meeting is scheduled for August 1-4, 2012, and all pertinent meeting-related information can be found under the MOAC 2012 tab on the top right side of the homepage.

The Frontenac is set in the heart of Old Quebec City, majestically overlooking the St. Lawrence River. Our meeting date coincides with the annual Les Fetes de la Nouvelle France. The festival celebrates how Quebec City was approximately 200 years ago. For more information regarding the festival, please click on the following link (http://www.nouvellefrance.qc.ca/en/).

In addition to participating in the scientific aspects of the MOAC meeting, I am hoping that you will plan to spend some additional time exploring this region of Canada. To help in that regard, Peter Kertes (Toronto) and Eric Tourville (Quebec City) will serve as our local hosts of the meeting. Eric has shared his expertise of the city with us in the "About Quebec City" link on this website under the MOAC 2012 tab, where he lists Quebec City restaurants, local attractions, and attractions within several hours of Quebec City. We have also reserved a small block of rooms prior to the meeting, at the Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu (www.fairmont.com/richelieu), which is located about two hours to the northeast, along the St. Lawrence River, and can be reached either by car or by private train service. This region is well known for fantastic whale watching, great dining, and a virtually unlimited array of outdoor activities.

To reach Quebec City, you can either fly directly into Quebec City, or into Montreal. The airport in Quebec City is located approximately 25 minutes to the south of the city, while Montreal is approximately 240 km to the southwest (three hours driving time).

We are anticipating another wonderful scientific meeting of the MOAC in the beautiful setting of old historic Quebec City. Once again, for all pertinent information regarding the meeting, please browse through the information located within the MOAC 2012 icon, scrolling down on the right side. You will find information regarding meeting registration, the scientific program, hotel information, getting to Quebec City, pertinent weblinks, social events, information about Quebec City, and information about the surrounding region to the northeast along the St. Lawrence River (The Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu, in Charlevoix).
