Social Events

As part of the MOAC meeting, listed below are the associated social events

Wednesday, August 1st (6 to 8 PM)

Welcome Reception, either outdoors on the grounds of the Frontenac, or in a decommishened church, about a five minute walk from the hotel. The precise location will be confirmed prior to the meeting. The reception will be from 6 to 8 PM, and will include refreshments and light food. This activity is included in the registration fee. The dress code is smart casual. If the event is held outdoors, please recognize that the average daily high temperature is 74 degrees, with a low of 56 degrees in early August.

Friday, August 3rd (6:30 to 9 PM)

Cocktail reception/Dinner. Site to be determined, though will be held on the property of the Frontenac (6:30 - 9:00 PM). This activity is included in your registration fee for you and your spouse/guest. There is a supplemental charge for additional family and/or friends (see registration form). The dress code is smart casual attire.

General Information

There are no conference-related group recreational activities, though virtually any activity can be arranged either directly on your own or through the concierge at the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac. On site, there is a wonderful spa, walking, biking, and shopping opportunities within the old city, and access to nearby golf. Keep in mind that the annual Les Fetes de la Nouvelle France festival coincides with the dates of the MOAC (http://www.nouvellefrance.qc.ca/en/).

Also, prior to the meeting, lodging will be available at the Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu (www.fairmont.com/richelieu), located approximately two hours to the northeast, along the St. Lawrence River. Please check our website link for further information (Pre-Meeting Recreation). Rooms are available from Saturday, July 28th through Tuesday, July 31st, starting at $ 229/night Canadian. Please indicate that you are part of the MOAC.
